…Kingsmead Day Nursery Chandlers Ford

Kingsmead Day Nursery Chandler’s Ford, near Eastleigh in Hampsire, is situated in a quiet established residential area. It is ideally situated away from a busy road in a safe and secure environment and parking is convenient when dropping off or picking up. There is quick access to the M3, with a junction close by linking the M27.

The property stands in a large garden that is secluded and secure with a combination of high boundary walls and fencing. There are different play areas: a grass area, a rubber based play area, a hard surface area for rolling equipment, a covered area, a woodland section and separate outdoor covered and garden play areas for the babies.

Continuous provision is maintained here at Kingsmead; we ensure that we provide the same level of materials and activities outdoors as well as indoors. Parents supply waterproofs and wellington boots ensuring that we can use the facilities in all weathers.

We cater for children from three months to five years of age. The nursery units are divided according to age and are fully equipped to meet their ever developing needs. As the nursery exclusively offers forty-two places, full time and part time, we feel that we can offer a comforting family environment for your child.

Kingsmead Rear Garden

Our large garden offer extensive play areas and indoor activities are also available outdoors. If it rains covered areas help to keep the children dry.

At Kingsmead we promote equality of opportunity for children and their families. We seek to broaden and deepen children’s experiences by following the Early Years Foundation Stage. The EYFS framework has four core areas:

  • A Unique Child
  • Positive Relationships
  • Enabling Environments and
  • Learning and Development, which itself includes seven areas:
  • communication and language
  • physical development
  • personal, social and emotional development
  • literacy
  • mathematics
  • understanding the world and
  • expressive arts and design

We monitor our practice and have regular meetings to discuss and decide how to improve our practice and procedure.

Pre-school playground

When in the garden staff are placed at strategic points to best supervise and give the children a helping hand.

We accept Childcare Vouchers and Hampshire County Council funded Early Years Education is available at Kingsmead. All children are entitled to fifteen hours free per week and eligible families can claim up to 30 hours. The funding is provided for all children aged three years and above and starts the term following their third birthday. Some two year olds may also qualify for funding from Hampshire County Council.

Prior to children commencing nursery we arrange a minimum of two visits to help the child adjust to the nursery environment. Once the child starts, parents are welcome to contact or visit the nursery at any time.

We look forward to welcoming you and your son or daughter to Kingsmead Chandler’s Ford.

Our outdoor play areas are both fun and educational
