Kingsmead Day Nursery is a private day nursery located in Chandler’s Ford, near Eastleigh in Hampshire. We provide high-quality childcare and early years education for children from 3 months to 5 years old in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. A safe and Stimulating Nursery Environment Kingsmead Day Nursery has a large, secure garden designed to support children’s learning, development and enjoyment throughout the year. Our outdoor environment provides a range of opportunities for active play, exploration and discovery. Children have access to a variety of outdoor areas, including a grass play area, rubber-surfaced play space, hard-surface areas for wheeled toys and equipment, covered outdoor areas, a woodland section for nature-based learning, and dedicated outdoor play spaces for babies. We believe outdoor learning is an essential part of early years development. Our continuous provision approach means children have access to a wide range of resources and activities both indoors and outdoors. With waterproof clothing and wellington boots provided by families, children are encouraged to enjoy outdoor play and exploration in all weather conditions.
Childcare for Babies, Toddlers and Preschool Children Kingsmead welcomes children from 3 months to 5 years of age. Our nursery rooms are organised according to children’s ages and stages of development, with carefully planned environments and resources to support their changing needs. As a smaller nursery with a maximum of 42 places for full-time and part-time children, we offer a warm and welcoming family atmosphere. Our team builds strong relationships with children and families, ensuring every child receives individual care, attention and support.
Funded Childcare and Early Years Education Kingsmead Day Nursery accepts Childcare Vouchers and offers funded Early Years Education through Hampshire County Council. Funded childcare is available from 9 months of age, with support starting from the term after your child becomes entitled. Families may be able to claim up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week, depending on their circumstances. All eligible three and four-year-olds can access the government-funded early education entitlement. Our team is happy to provide guidance and support with understanding available funding options. Helping Children Settle into Nursery We understand that starting nursery is a significant milestone for children and parents. Before a child begins at Kingsmead, we arrange a minimum of two settling-in visits to help them become familiar with the nursery environment, meet staff and build confidence. Once your child starts nursery, we encourage a strong partnership between families and our team.
