Our Ducklings Baby Room provides a safe, caring and stimulating environment for babies from their very first day at nursery. We understand that every child develops at their own pace, so we create a nurturing space where they feel secure, valued and encouraged to explore the world around them. The room is fully equipped with age-appropriate resources, toys and learning materials that support all areas of early development. We also have a dedicated sleep area, allowing babies to rest peacefully whenever they need to. Children have access to their own secure outdoor play area, including a covered veranda, so they can enjoy fresh air and outdoor learning in all weather conditions. Healthy, freshly prepared meals are provided throughout the day, including a morning snack, a hot lunch and a substantial afternoon tea. Fresh drinking water is always available, and fruit and healthy snacks are offered regularly.
Our experienced practitioners plan a variety of engaging activities that encourage learning through play. These include sensory play, mark making, role play, music, stories, messy play and free play. We also celebrate seasonal events, cultural festivals and special occasions, helping children learn about the world around them in a fun and meaningful way. Every baby is treated as an individual. When your child joins us, we work closely with you to follow their home routine, including feeding, sleeping and changing times. As they become more settled and confident, their routine naturally develops to meet their changing needs and growing independence. Building strong partnerships with parents is an important part of what we do. During the summer, we invite families to join us for our annual themed Party and Afternoon Tea in the nursery garden, creating special memories together. Our Baby Room accommodates a maximum of nine children and maintains a ratio of one adult to every three children. This ensures every child receives the individual attention, care and support they need to thrive. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage providing high-quality childcare and early education that supports every child's learning, development and wellbeing from the very beginning of their nursery journey.
